Young Male Adults

Without a doubt the single most unchurched age and gender demographic in the United States is young male adults between the age of 18 and 25 (ish). In my church, YMA constitute between 4 and 5 percent. Yet this is the demographic for future teachers, deacons, pastors, etc.

I have to figure out what needs to be done differently to attract this group back to the church. In Fayetteville, 1000s upon 1000s of the YMAs grew up in an evangelical church and are not in church—what happened?

Why don’t they get up on Sundays and worship the Lord? Why don’t they show up on Wednesdays and serve in the church?

We have a military installation full of YMAs and we have at least three colleges full of this demographic. How do we engage this unchurched group of either backslidden or lost men?

If you are interested in helping me seek God’s face as to why this huge segment of the population is bailing out let me know.

The future of the local church is contingent upon reaching these dads and future dads with the reality that “real men love Jesus” and “wise men still seek him.”
